SoftRock Forum: Stephen Stukins, Thursday,  March 25th 2010, 4pm, MUN ER-4065,

Stukins softrock

Our speaker this time will be Stephen Stukins, PhD student at the University of Aberdeen, UK. Steve is co-supervised by Duncan McIlroy here at MUN, and is on a research visit to Newfoundland for a few weeks.

His presentation will be on the topic of:

Spatio-temporal facies and biofacies trends in a marginal marine depositional system

Steve will introduce us to some exceptional Jurassic marginal marine successions from Argentina and use combined palynological and sedimentological criteria to assess the palaeoecological and petroleum geological implications. We will move on to Bitters afterwards, where Steve will be happy to talk informally about his work.
