Alex Liu, has hit the headlines this week with the publication of his discovery of trace fossils in the Mistaken Point Formation at Mistaken Point itself.

Liu, A.G., McIlroy, D., & Brasier M.D. 2010 First evidence for locomotion in the Ediacara biota from the 565Ma Mistaken Point Formation Newfoundland. Geology, 38, 123-126.

Steve Stukins visiting the MUN ichnology group from the University of Aberdeen

Steve Stukins is visiting the MUN ichnology group from the University of Aberdeen.  Steve is supervised by Dr. Dave Jolley (Aberdeen) and Dr. Duncan McIlroy and is working on the study of palynology and delta top floral patterns in the Lajas Formation in Argentina.  He is coming for a period of 2 months to finish off paper writing and thesis submission with Duncan and colleagues.  Please take time to welcome Steve to our department.
